How To Finally Get Rid Of Back Pains With An Inversion Table

By Chris Channing

An inversion table is an object used in alternative medicine to help relieve the aching pains of the back. Inversion tables are considered to be safe devices, so long as certain health complications aren't present. Their use in back pain therapy has been tested, tried, and true- making for a great investment.

Sometimes back pain, even in the chronic form, is very simple to cure. Back pain can be caused by vertabrae in the back to clamp down on nerves, which obviously isn't going to feel very good. Releasing pressure on vertabrae can also help protect against damage on discs in the back, as well as help protect against two vertabrae from rubbing against each other. Each of these methods is proven to work in inversion table therapy.

Having a bad posture will inevitably result in back pain. Poor posture will allow the muscles to shrink in size, making them less limber. This allows for much less mobility and movement, and easily results in back pain. The trick comes to stretch out the back muscles in a safe way; something inversion tables are great at. Inversion tables may not teach good posture, but they help fix the situation bad posture has caused. Fixing bad posture should be a secondary goal, however.

Hanging upside down at an angle allows blood flow to the head and back areas. When blood flow rushes to the head, this results in better mental awareness. It also helps the back, since increased blood flow allows blood vessels to widen. Constricted blood vessels are another cause of back pain, since they are less able to get oxygen to the muscles that need it.

To help the process along, some like to use warming packs or small massagers during the inversion table usage. Doing so allows the back to relax even further, and promotes expansion of blood vessels to again give a benefit to increased blood flow. Having someone else give a massage immediately before or after using an inversion table will also help the user to reap further relief from back pain.

A doctor should be consulted before trying an inversion table out. Those with high blood pressure, for instance, may not be able to use them. Others who may have chronic back pain for more complicated reasons may not see benefit, or even see further complications if they aren't careful. A general physician should be able to make a proper decision as to whether or not an inversion table is right for your situation.

In Conclusion

Obtaining the right inversion table usually requires asking around. Check with friends or employees at health stores to see if they have ever used such devices. If not, going online and reading user reviews is always the next best option. But, as always, consul a general physician before purchasing one, as health risks may arise otherewise. - 15266
