Do you think there is no way to setup a trampoline in your yard due to uneven or un-level ground? Is your trampoline currently leaning or out of level? I hope to provide you with a couple of ideas on how to solve the issues surrounding trampolines and elevation changes in yards.
The first option that you have is to create a level place in your yard. In order to do this you will need to either remove some dirt or add some dirt. If you decide to remove dirt, it may just take a bit of work with a shovel, however if your yard has extreme elevation changes you may need to rent a bobcat or other small piece of excavating equipment.
Before you begin excavation on your yard to make it even for the trampoline you will want to by a string level. You will be able to find a string level at any local hard ware store. The string level works by placing two stakes in the ground on either side of the area you are excavating and then running a string from one stake to the other. You will need a helper to attach the string level to the middle of the string and then have you move the string up or down on one side until the bubble on the level is in between the lines.
Now, find a stick and mark it as you move down the string. If the mark is above the string, get rid of some of the dirt or soil. If the mark is below the line you will need to add some.
When you believe the area is level, use a string to go over it and remove excess dirt. Then, use a rake to fine level. Finally, make sure everything is firm to the ground, you may need to add or remove earth.
If you are concerned that the dirt on the high side of the newly leveled area is going to corrode and wash onto your trampoline you will want to build a retaining wall to prevent such corrosion. You can find retaining wall blocks that interlock nicely at your local home and garden store.
If excavation is not an option, you can opt to build foothills. You will need to decide how permanent you want your trampoline. NOTE: anything built must be sturdy enough for the intended load it is going to hold. People will be jumping on your trampoline, it must be safe.
I would suggest you build the footings out of cinder blocks and fill the footing with sand or dirt. Once you have built your footings and placed your trampoline on top of them you will want to use stakes to secure the trampoline to the footings so that no slippage occurs.
Whatever you decide to do, safety comes first! A trampoline can be fun for the whole family as well as a great tool to get in shape. Keep the area well maintained so that it can bring you joy for years to come. - 15266
