Ab Machines Do Not Work For Your Abs Functionally

By Jose Loni

For six-pack abs, ab machines do not work. Many ab machines on the market either don't target the ab muscles directly or they can cause muscle imbalances that can cause other problems or potential injury. For six-pack abs, we must focus on our diet, and increasing our metabolism.

There are ab machines that support the back and the neck, while training the abdominal muscles. However, while the abs are being trained, the neck and back are not being trained. The result of which can cause strength imbalances in the muscles and cause back pain.

Some ab machines place our body in positions that may cause injury while doing the exercise. Some machines target the hip flexor muscle group rather than the abs.

The nutritional components of what we eat is key to achieving ripped abs. Rather than eating 3 large meals per day, increase the number of meals to 5-6 and eat smaller meals. This way you can keep a constant energy level throughout the day and keep the blood sugar levels steady.

Eating 5-6 meals a day and by decreasing meal portions, we are better able to control the calories we consume and maintain our energy and blood sugar levels. In doing so, we are better able to utilize and consume the calories we eat and burn off the excess fat.

Increasing our metabolism through exercise will help our body burn the excess fat and expose the underlying six pack abs. Resistance training and interval training will help our body to increase its metabolic processes, which will burn the excess fat.

The body's increased muscle mass, which is the result of the resistance and interval training helps to increase the body's efficiency in burning fat and getting rid of excess body fat.

Ab machines do not work for your abs functionally. Ab machines can cause injury and cause imbalances in our muscles, which can lead to further injury. If we want to get ripped abs, we must make changes in our nutrition and increase our metabolism. - 15266
