Is it Time to Start Dieting?

By Ricardo d Argence

We all know people who have tried diet after diet that doesn't work. Many diets will give you a weight loss in the first few weeks but eventually the weight starts to come back, and often with a few extra pounds. This is very common and often feels like the universe is playing a cruel joke upon you for even trying to lose the weight in the first place!

You will discover that, even when following the most popular diets, this loss will be temporary and will return with a vengeance. In the first few weeks the result of most diets are to give you a good weight loss. When you're trying to lose weight, the low-quality or crash diets simply flush water out of your system over a brief period, and you'll gain it back right away. Your body's fluids will return whether the diet continues or not. However, if the diet is stopped, the fluids will return and add to the fat you were trying to lose. You might find that you actually weigh more on the scales than when you began the diet. The company that is able to sell you the most expensive dieting products they have will be the only one winning after all.

With so many challenges, you might be questioning, why should I even try to start dieting? Diets are very individual-specific, so many may not work for you, but when one does, keep your eyes on the prize. That's all there is to it. Not even good diets can always ensure that people will maintain their motivation and stay on track. It is essential that you are focused on where you want your body to be at the end of your diet.

Examine your lifestyle and select your specialized reasons for dieting. You should be hard on yourself. Understand the need to lose weight instead of reasons you want to lose weight. You need to find reasons to really push your emotions. Here's a list of motivators.

Self-confidence related. Seat belts don't fit. I don't feel comfortable going to the beach. I hate my own image in the mirror. I am always the heaviest person. My weight makes me feel depressed. I lose weight I want to look the best I can for my wedding day. I hate my own image in the mirror.

Personal. My inner thighs are chafing. I can't play with the kids because I get too exhausted. Always having to buy new clothes of a bigger size. I feel tired all the time. I have swollen feet.

Relationships. My relationship is suffering because of my lack of sex drive. My partner is always hinting for me to lose weight. No one wants to date me the way I look.

You should have a good number of reasons why you need to lose weight at this point. List all that apply from the choices above and include a minimum of 3 more original reasons. Complete it immediately. We must take immediate action to be successful. If you aren't serious about taking action now then it is likley that you are wasting your time.

This minute and the next minute and the next hour and the next day are going to be much different from before. Now is the time when you're going to begin on the path towards the person you want to be! Only you can take good care of yourself, will you be healthy in the future? - 15266
