Is a bathroom vanity that important?

By Zaina Zidan

Have you ever stopped and wondered why your bathroom vanity is such an important element in your latrine? The biggest reason it has a higher value placed on it compared to all of the other fixtures in the bathroom is because you have total control over it. You choose where to put it and how large or small of one you need. There are just a few small things you might want to look into when you pick out a brand new vanity. The entire theme of your latrine may rest solely on the type of vanity you choose.

Many of your visitors will have the opportunity to check out your latrine during their visit. The two main items utilized in a bathroom are of course the toilet and the bathroom vanity. No matter how hard they try though they just can't keep from looking at themselves in the mirror before they head out of the latrine. When the mirror is positioned properly (at eye level) on the wall directly above the vanity all your guests can use it when they feel the need to.

When you are a guest in a friend's house, what is it that you notice the most? Whatever you look at the most when you are in their bathroom, you need to make sure that you cover that same detail when you are deigning your bathroom. The centerpiece of the bathroom is the bathroom vanity. The reason for this is because the bathroom vanity is right below the mirror and everyone has to check themselves over while they are washing their hands, and making sure that your appearance is still looking fresh is a big habit for most.

One way to show your visitors that you have a great sense of style is by choosing the right bathroom vanity. The vanity along with its mirror is considered the most important element in any latrine design since every guest uses it before leaving. There are times when your guests are thinking of redecorating their own latrine and they are hunting for decorating ideas. Before making a critical choice you need to embrace the idea of having a particular type of mirror above the vanity and it needs to match your color scheme as well as your theme for decorating.

Many things come to mind when choosing a new bathroom vanity. You think of how much space it's going to take up and will it work well with the toilet, sink, and shower that are presently installed. The vanity is located right above the sink so you will need to figure out what size of mirror you will exactly need and which one will look the best in the amount of space you want it to take over on the latrine wall.

Many people try to match the size of the sink and mirror so they balance out perfectly. You don't want your bathroom to look empty so consider enlarging your mirror just a little if you're using a smaller sink. When choosing a decent sized bathroom vanity mirror you can take up some of the excess wall space and your guests will have an easier time using it.

Your guests will probably admire the lighting that you put above the bathroom vanity because it helps them gain the full essence of the room. When the trim and the cabinet portion of the vanity match it will give the affect that you are searching for with your theme. With all the time and effort you have spent searching for the right mirror you might as well show it off like a famous piece of art in the spotlight. - 15266

3 Proven Ways To Make Yourself Look Or Appear Taller

By Rodney Williams

For some, growing taller through natural means may not be as easily accomplished as it is for others. Depending on your physical condition and/or age, exercises or other procedures used to help gain natural height may not be feasible. Or perhaps you're only looking for a temporary solution to make yourself look taller, without actually gaining any height.

Regardless of the situation, there are three easy ways to gain some height, both real and perceived, which requires very little effort on your part, just that burning desire to stand eye-to-eye with your peers.

1) If anyone was thinking of a simple way to gain height, shoes would probably be their first thought, and it's a good one. Yet while footwear that obviously increases height is of little use, there is footwear that will do the same, without being obvious that it's doing so. Insoles can also help perform this feat.

Shoes can readily be found on the market which will discreetly increase your height a good couple of inches. Insoles can also help to raise your height a good inch or two, but must be compatible with the footwear you plan to use them with.

2) Keeping with the theme of outerwear, clothes too can be used to achieve the appearance of increased height, though unlike footwear or insoles, you're not actually gaining any height with these methods, just the appearance of being taller.

Leg wear is often misused by people attempting to look taller, as they wear their pants too high in the hopes that this will make their legs appear longer. This actually has the opposite effect, and should be avoided. Wear your pants as low as you naturally gain. Baggy clothing should also be avoided, as this gives you a heavier and more squashed appearance. Wearing shirts adorned with vertical lines is a neat little trick that can be used to make you appear taller.

3) Lastly is your hair, which of course is somewhat up to the whim of the Gods, at least as far as whether or not you have any. This shouldn't of course be an issue for women, but balding men may want to consider getting a hair piece, or trying out hair renewal products.

No, we're not advocating you sporting a high rise Mohawk, but even shortly cut hair, slightly spiked at the front does an excellent job of making you look taller. Women should avoid having long hair which hides the neck, instead styling it upward if they do wish to maintain their hair's length.

Using one or more of these techniques, you can easily give the appearance of being a few inches taller than you actually are, no long workout regime required. - 15266

Family Infos - Setting Goals For Your Family

By Mirca Bauer

Sometimes you will wake up and think to yourself that your family life is not exactly where you would like it to be. Relationships can falter over one small disagreement. Therefore it is extremely easy to grow out of touch with your family, or otherwise have your relationships turn into something less than extraordinary. If you feel that your family life is stagnant, then you should immediately start to set goals and give your family life the shot in the arm that it needs. Your goals will depend on what exactly is troubling you, but you can almost always take action to cure your family of whatever problem you feel is riddling it.

There is an acronym that is popularly used to describe any goals. That is ?SMART?. Specific goals narrow your desires down instead of simply throwing out a blanket statement. Measurable goals are always obviously accomplished when you reach them. Action-oriented goals mean you can do something about them right away. Realistic goals are useful in your life and leave you something to be accomplished. Tangible goals are ultimately achievable, and won?t just leave you frustrated and worn out. Follow this acronym even with family goals, and you will be able to succeed.

One of the most common family problems is that the members feel distant from apiece other. If you are feeling this way about your family, then you should immediately set a goal to spend more time together. You can resolve to take one meal per day with apiece other, or you can pencil in a ?family reading time? every night, or go on a picnic every weekend. It doesn?t matter what exactly you do, as long as you are enjoying apiece others company and becoming closer to apiece other.

This is good for spousal relationships as well as relationships with your children. Altogether you can?t go wrong with spending more time together, and this is a great place to start. Another goal you might aim for is to improve communication with your spouse or kids. If you talk to your kids every day about what is going on in school, you can develop much closer relationships, and make them know that you are interested in what goes on in their lives.

The exact same thing goes with spouses. It may seem clich?d, but you should always ask about work. When you talk to your kids or spouse about their day to day lives, make mental notes of things that are going on, and be sure to ask about them at later dates. This will give them assurance that you are actually listening, and they will be much more open to you later.

Maybe your goals are nothing like these, and your family needs something much different to become ideal. Well whatever it takes, you should work hard to achieve it. Nothing should hold you back from creating a great family life. Family life is one of the most important things in the world to anyone, and therefore you should place no small value in it. If you need other help to achieve the goals that you have with your family, you can talk to a family counselor who can give you great advice related to you and how you interact with the members of your family. - 15266

Honey Locust and Tree of Heaven

By Alexa Brooklyn

The honey locust was named for the botanist Gottlieb Glcditsch and for its three-branched, 5 to 15-centimetre-long spines, which grow on the trunk and branches. It is a native of eastern North America, where it is found on moist, rich soils from Texas, northward to the 43rd parallel. It can tolerate drier situations, and is planted in tree belts in the prairies.

It generally grows to a height of no more than 7 to 15 metres. Only in riverinc woods or rich soil does it attain a height of more than 15 metres. The bark is furrowed into rhombic plates and the variety suberosa has corky wings on the twigs. The leaf stalk exudes a milky substance when broken off. The yellow-green flowers appear at the beginning of May, together with the leaves. The fruit, a wide double samara with parallel wings, ripens in September and October.

The honey locust is a light-demanding tree and stands up well to cutting-back. It is found in parks, and sometimes in the vicinity of country dwellings, where it is used as a thorny hedge. The wood, which is hard with reddish brown heartwood, is highly prized. The unripe pods are a favourite food of livestock and the dye they yield is used in colouring fabrics.

The tree of heaven is native to the southern half of China, and in 1751 was introduced into Europe, where it is now grown in the cities and parks in the western, central and southern areas. Thriving best in a mild climate, it grows well in warm lowland areas, particularly in cities, where it has great powers of natural regeneration on clumps and demolished sites.

The twigs are green, covered with a bluish bloom when young. The trunk is often crooked, and the bark is divided into ridges by shallow fissures. Unlike all other European maples, it has compound odd-pinnate leaves. The tiny greenish flowers are clustered in pendent racemes and appear as the leaves unfold. The fruit, which matures in autumn, appears also in pendent clusters.

The Norway maple is shade-tolerant and needs rich, moist soil for good growth. The wood is very like that of the sycamore in appearance and is used for similar purposes, but is not as highly valued. The Norway maple has many ornamental forms, including purple and variegated leaved kinds. It tolerates the smoky atmosphere of cities, and is popularly planted in parks and city streets. - 15266

Management consulting salaries - from analyst to partner

By Management Consulted

Something a lot of people are dying to know.

The data is what Ive gathered from my own experience, current consulting friends, and public sources. They wont be 100% accurate but should be pretty close.

2 valuable resources on consulting include my blog - Management Consulted - and wallstreetoasis.com

Here they are!

1st year out of college undergraduate:

Base salaries: $50-65K Signing bonuses: $5-10K Relocation/moving expenses: $5-10K Year-end bonus: $5-10K

Thats an average of $70-75K in first year compensation. As an intern, you can expect a comparable, pro-rated salary (minus the bonuses). Please note that this does not include retirement contributions.

First year out of business school/MBA:

Base salaries: $110-140K Signing bonuses: $20-40K Relocation/moving expenses: $10-20K Year-end bonus: $20-40K

Thats an average of $160-200K in total first year compensation. Please note that this does not include retirement contributions.

Progression track through partner:

My numbers have a higher risk of being inaccurate as this is only from personal anecdotes - so take them with a grain of salt

Engagement manager/Project leader: $175-250K Associate principal/Senior project leader: $250-400K Partner/Principal: $500-800K Senior partner/Director: $1M plus At more senior levels the pay is increasingly performance-based

How consulting salaries lose to finance:

At almost every level of consulting, your salary will be 30-50% lower than a comparable position in investment banking. This is variable by year and median salaries in non-banking departments (such as research, asset management, sales & trading) are lower. But like I said in this post, consulting is not a profession to make big bucks.

How consulting firms compensate for the lower salaries:

Better benefits - healthcare, life insurance, etc Retirement contributions - this one is important because at places like McKinsey, theyll contribute an added 5-10% of your base salary to your retirement funds, effectively a 5-10% year-end bonus! (A reader just informed me that his MBB retirement contribution starting fulltime in 09 was 4.5%, which is lower than Id seen in previous years) More generous expense and reimbursement policies, travel perks, etc

Hope everyone found that informative. Good luck breaking into consulting. - 15266

Choice Varieties for Compost Growing

By Rick Stanley

You very seldom find medlars today other than in really old gardens. If they are grown they are usually planted as ornamental trees because they produce large flowers something like a wild rose. It is possible to buy the trees as bushes or pyramids but they are usually planted as half-standards or standards. The fruit is not picked until November. It is then stored, stalk upwards, being laid individually on paper in a frost-proof room. The fruits are then not used until they go soft and almost rotten. This ripening process is known as Wetting.

The true loganberry should ripen in July and continue to produce fruit for many weeks. It is quite hardy and is a heavy cropper.

The berries are longer than blackberries. The Thornless Loganberry is not such a vigorous grower as the original kind but it is liked by many because it is easier to train with the canes being thornless.

I have not found any special feeding of medlars necessary. Planting the trees. The bush or pyramid trees may be planted as close as 10 feet apart if necessary. The half-standards should be put in 15 feet square and the standards no closer than 20 feet. The actual operation of planting is similar to apples.

The Phenomenal Berry is said to be an improved type of loganberry. It ripens undoubtedly a few days later but does not crop so heavily.

All that need be done is to cut out the dead wood, the diseased wood and any wood which tends to cross over to the other side of the tree and so keep out light and air. Remove also, carefully, the rubbing branches. It is just a question, therefore, of thinning out each December. - 15266

Product Review: Sanyo DR6700K Massage Chair Recliner

By Steve Esquire

There are many massage chairs on the market today and you have more choices on the types of features and functions. We will provide a product review of the Sanyo DR 6700K massage chair. This is a higher end massage chair from Sanyo. Our product review will cover the more important features of the massage recliner. We will also touch on the warranty included with the Sanyo DR 6700 massage recliner.

Warranty coverage is the dryer of the subjects that we are obligated to cover, but in the long run it can be very important. Massage chairs are complex machines with both electrical components and mechanical mechanisms. Quality levels continue a steady improvement, but there are occasional issues. Make sure you protect yourself with an adequate warranty.

The warranty coverage of the Sanyo DR 6700K is 3 years on the roller mechanism. The roller mechanism is contained in the chair back and is responsible for providing the massage therapy for your back, neck and shoulders. Parts and Labor are both covered for 1 year for the rest of the massage chair. Sanyo also gives you 1 year of in home technician service. That means a qualified technician will come to your house and repair the massage chair.

The DR 6700 comes with 4 automatic massage programs. These are one-touch massage programs. They are based around the following themes: Stiffness, Recovery, Fine and Relax. With the touch of a button, the DR6700 will provide a full body massage for the time set. These programs run the whole chair, so all you have to do is sit back and relax.

Manual massage techniques are also available in the DR6700. These manual treatments use one particular technique like kneading which can then be used to cover a particular spot or region of the body. These techniques are great where you want a specific type of relief. The other manual massage techniques include Shiatsu, Grip, Kneading, Tapping and Combination Kneading/Tapping.

You have a number of options that can be selected with the DR 6700 massage chair. You can adjust the intensity of the massage. This makes it either softer or stronger depending on your desire. Also, the roller width can be changed. This is helpful if you want the spread of the rollers to hit a wider area of your back. Or for example, if you want the rolling massage to hit more of the cervical discs, then you can make it narrower.

Another set of functions integrated into the DR 6700 are manual massage courses. Manual massage courses will move the roller mechanism in a certain zone or region of the body. For instance, you can select neck and shoulders as the region and then select the kneading massage. The kneading will be done exclusively in this area for the duration of the massage.

The DR-6700 comes with some advanced electronics that are also integrated into the massage chair. There is a Stiffness Detector. This measure the degree or perspiration and pulse rate when your fingers are placed on the secondary remote sensor. The massage chair is then able to determine areas in the body that have unusual tension or stiffness. The on board computer then automatically targets these areas for relief.

The lower body also needs some attention and the DR6700 has just the answer. An air compressor has been installed underneath the seat which activates air bags in the chair. The air bags provide a soothing compression massage. The air bags are specifically designed for each major muscle group in the legs to provide effective relief.

The DR-6700 massage chair has some very nice features to compliment its massage therapy. The stiffness detector is certainly unique, but actually pretty effective. Good thing it doesn't ask you questions! The manual massage treatments like the Grip massage are fabulous. We do like the automatic programs that Sanyo has developed. We wish the labor for the warranty coverage was a little longer. Overall, this is a solid massage chair that can meet your long term massage therapy needs. - 15266

Medlar

By Rick Stanley

Normally the loganberry is cooked but there are those, like my wife, who like acid fruits, who eat the berries raw with relish, when they are really ripe. The berries are produced in great profusion, being of a deep maroon colour.

Loganberries grow quite happily on their own roots. Feeding the canes. Loganberries have to form new canes each year and it is on these that the fruit is borne. They can be fed in a similar manner to blackberries. The only slight difference, perhaps, being that I have discovered they need more potash. Wood ashes should be used at 6 oz. to the sq. yard, or flue dust at 4 oz. to the sq. yard, each year early in March. Where sulphate of potash is available, made from grapeskins, this could be used at 2 oz. to the sq. yard.

Budding is usually done on any of these stocks in July. Feeding the trees. Medlars do quite well when grown in grass, providing this is cut regularly. For the first three or four years a little circle of soil around the tree may be kept hoed or a mulch of sedge peat may be applied on the ground early in June to the depth of an inch for 3 feet all round the tree.

Prune as soon after picking as possible, cutting away the canes that have just fruited and then tying in the new canes in their place. The straw mulching method as advised for blackberries is ideal. I have never known loganberries to be grassed down but in areas of high rainfall this might be a possibility provided one of the finer-graded grasses was used and providing the grass is cut regularly and fed properly.

Because the disease spores of cane spot may drop from the old wood on to the new, it is a good idea to train the new canes up through the middle of the fan. Then when the old canes are cut away the young canes may be tied in their place. It is a mistake to lay the new canes down close to the ground because (a) they may be damaged, and (b) the disease spores may drop on them from the older canes.

The grubs of the raspberry beetle burrow into the plug of the fruits as well as feeding on the drupelets. These must be kept at bay by using the non-poisonous liquid derris about the middle of June and again the end of June. The grubs of the shoot moth feed on the young tips of new canes and they often spin the little leaves together in bunches. Watch the young growths carefully and hand pick the grubs from the bunch tips. You may have to unroll them to do this. Various kinds of aphides (greenflies) may attack loganberries but they can easily be killed by spraying with liquid derris. Give the canes plenty of room for development so that the leaves can dry quickly after rain. If these cultural methods are adopted, there should be little trouble with the disease. If, however, it should occur, spray with a colloidal copper solution, added to the beetle sprays. - 15266

White Mulberry and Black Locust

By John Anthony

For centuries, the wild cherry has been cultivated in gardens and its seeds distributed by birds, so that now it is difficult to determine its original, natural area of distribution.

The white mulberry is a small tree growing to a height of 10 to 15 metres and developing a broad crown. The bark is grey-brown and furrowed with longitudinal ridges. The leaves are broadly ovate, often three lobed. The tiny flowers are borne in short dense spikes, usually monoeciously, rarely dioeciously. The milky-white loganberry-like fruit has a bland, sweetish taste and matures in ,June.

The white mulberry requires partial shade and warm climate, Europe's wine-growing regions providing the best conditions for its growth. It is damaged by frost, but has good powers of regeneration by suckers. It is cultivated in parks as a specimen tree, and is also good in tree avenues, and for planting in hedges.

The tulip tree's name is derived from the shape of the flowers which somewhat resemble those of a tulip. It is a native of North America, where it grows from the Canadian border southward as far as Arkansas and Florida. It is found chiefly in moist forests on rich alluvial soils.

The trunk is generally crooked, and the crown has pendent branches. The shoots are thin, the buds small and ovoid. The white (lowers, borne in a loose, upright raceme, appear about a week later than those of the bird cherry. The fruit is a black, spherical ovoid drupe, ripening in late July, with a small smooth stone.

The winged seeds form a cone-like structure and disintegrate in the spring of the following year. The tulip tree is widely cultivated in the parks of western and central Europe for its ornamental flowers, and for its leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The light wood, with yellow-brown heartwood and pale sapwood, is used to make veneers and musical instruments. - 15266

Structure of the Trunk

By Jamie Rainbows

Let us now take a look at the structure of the tree trunk. In the centre, there is a narrow column of pith and around it a continuous shaft of wood, called the xylem. This is made up of concentric circles known as the annual rings. Then comes the thin layer of phloem and, on the outside, the bark, which in older trees may be split and furrowed.

This is an adaptation to the environment in which they grow, for they are trees of the north and of the mountains where the climate is harsh and the summer short. To make the best use of this brief period, and not to lose time producing new leaves, they generally retain their foliage throughout the winter.

To be able to bear the weight of the snow and survive frost and lack of water, the leaves have a different shape and structure. Most of their cells are thick- walled and their surface is often protected by a waxy layer.

The strip of compact summer wood is easily distinguished from the strip of the following year's spring wood so that on a stump we can clearly see the yearly growth, in the form of annual rings, and thus easily determine the age of the felled tree.

The width of the annual ring is proportional to the quantity of manufactured food substances, and corresponds roughly to the amount of rainfall and warmth in a given year, i.e. in a favourable year it will be broad, whereas in an unfavourable year it will be narrow. A narrow ring is, therefore, an indication of the unfavourable influence Of dry weather and in trees sensitive to the cold of severe frosts, etc. This correlation today forms the basis of a new study known as dendrochronology.

The process is slow and gradual, and the tree sappears unchanged. Only the amount of needles on the ground beneath i serves as an indication of its shedding rate. - 15266

Why Choose Makeup without Bismuth Oxychloride

By Marilyn Etzel

Mineral makeup is everywhere you look these days. The minerals in the cosmetics are found naturally in the earth. Using them adds a natural glow to your face. But, all mineral cosmetics don't only contain minerals but other compounds.

One filler that is commonly used is bismuth oxychloride. The main component, bismuth, can be located on the periodic table squeezed between arsenic and antimony. From the former, you can guess that it keeps quite toxic company. As a standalone element, bismuth gives off unhealthy fumes when it is burned.

As filler, bismuth undergoes a refining process to become bismuth oxychloride. The first step involves combining it with another element, chlorine. Hydrochloric acid is produces which is still no good because it is a strong acid. Further addition of oxygen results in a harmless compound used as filler for cosmetics. Bismuth oxychloride can show as diamond or pearl in texture.

When you ground up bismuth oxychloride, it becomes a fine crystalline powder. In mineral makeup, it provides a silky finish on the skin as well as helping the makeup to adhere to the skin for a flawless lasting look.

As filler in makeup, bismuth oxychloride adds a shine to the skin. Some women like it and some do not. A pearlesque bismuth oxychloride results in a matte finish to your makeup. On the other hand, the diamond texture leaves the skin shimmering.

While some of the qualities of bismuth oxychloride may seem not so bad, your mineral makeup doesn't need this filler to still provide good flawless coverage to your face. In fact, many mineral makeup manufacturers have omitted it from their list of ingredients.

Why you are better off without bismuth oxychloride

1. We mentioned the fact that bismuth oxychloride provides a shine to the face. While it can look natural if you want to appear sun-kissed in the summertime, most women want to wear makeup that avoids the shine effect. If you have oily skin, you already shine a bit and a mineral makeup that adds to the shine is not that appealing.

2. Large pores appear larger when bismuth oxychloride is present. The compound doesn't do a good job of concealing that fact. Using makeup is one way to reduce the appearance of larger pores when bismuth oxychloride is not present.

3. Mineral cosmetics pride themselves on presenting a natural look from the earth. Bismuth oxychloride doesn't come from the earth as it is. Natural minerals blend in to the skin. That is why they look and feel light. The components of this compound may be natural but they can be lethal if used in that state. Only a refining process will allow you to create the cosmetic filler.

4. Bismuth oxychloride is an irritant to the skin of some women. If you are that unlucky woman, the filler compound can cause skin breakouts, itching, and even rashes on otherwise healthy looking skin. It's hard to tell if bismuth oxychloride will affect you in this way so it's safer to avoid it altogether.

If your mineral makeup contains bismuth oxychloride consider switching to one without the compound. Your skin will be healthier for the switch. - 15266

Information on Tree Flowering

By James Morris

Dispersal of tree seeds by water, as in the case of certain water plants, occurs less frequently. Of the European trees the older is one whose seeds are dispersed by water as well as by the wind, and of the tropical species the coconut palm is a noteworthy example.

The fruit is a ripened ovary, its walls forming the seed vessel, and contains one or more seeds.

To ensure that they fall in a suitable open space and do not merely drop beside the parent tree, where the prospects for their further growth are poor, the seeds are adapted for dissemination to longer or shorter distances. Most are equipped for dispersal by the wind and are either covered with down (willow, poplar) or have membranous wings (birch, elm, pine, spruce) or thick wings (maple, lime, hornbeam). The seeds of another group of woody plants are dispersed by animals, mainly birds. In general these are trees with pulpy, bright coloured fruits which serve as food for the birds, the seeds then being disseminated over a wide area in their excrement (mountain ash, cherry, yew).

The fruits of broad-leaved trees are classified as true fruits if their origin is a single ovary, or accessory fruits if other parts of the flower are involved, or if their origin is the entire inflorescence (mulberry).

Birch and pine, the first pioneers, were followed by the rapid northward spread of the oak and hazel, whose heavy seeds fall only a few metres from the parent Fee. Acorns, however, are a favourite food of jays and pigeons, while hazelnuts are eaten by nutcrackers and woodpeckers and e sometimes carried great distances in their beaks.

Dry fruits with a dry and hard outer wall are Samara - usually a winged, one-seeded fruit with thin, membranous to leathery coat (birch, elm, ash); Nut - a one-seeded fruit with hard, woody wall not connected with the seed (hazel, lime, hornbeam); Legume - usually the product of two carpels splitting along two lines of suture when ripe and containing several seeds; characteristic of most members of the family Leguminosae; Capsule - a single or several valved fruit splitting in various ways when ripe and containing several seeds (poplar, willow, chestnut). Fleshy fruits have soft, fleshy walls; Drupe - usually a one-seeded fruit with a coat comprising three layers: a thin outer layer, middle fleshy layer and a hard bony layer - the stone encasing the seed (cherry, walnut); Berry - a fruit with thin membranous covering and fleshy centre with one or several seeds embedded in the pulpy mass; few trees bear true berries. - 15266

Pregnancy Weight Gain, How Much Is Enough?

By Ricardo d Argence

During and after the pregnancy, weight gain is common and something most women dislike. Putting on pregnancy pounds is absolutely necessary for the embryo to get the appropriate vitamins and minerals for healthy growth.

In years past weight gain was considered detrimental for the pregnant woman, but now it is accepted as a normal part of embryo development. Actually, the huge problem of pregnant women is, how much should they ideally put on weight while they are pregnant.

Some exercise and a proper diet is extremely important for the mother and her child. The weight gained during pregnancy is distributed throughout a woman's body; most of it is the baby, some the placenta, some to the breasts (for milk production), and some as extra fluids needed during pregnancy.

A minimumof 15 lbs is the weight pregnant women can. Very thin women that come to be with child, is good for them to gain 45-50 pounds during that time.

Usually with the help of a ultra sound some women find out they are going to have more than one baby. Because both embryo's need nutrition, it is natural for the pregnant woman to gain even more weight. Women who tend to maintain their weight usually have problems with the development of the embryo, which in turn can cause problems for the newborn baby and possibly make them quite sickly.

More than 300 calories per day, pregnant women do not need to eat. Junk foods are not really good for pregnant women. Most expectant mothers gain the most amount of weight later in the pregnancy, with only a little bit of gain seen early in the pregnancy.

Losing weight when you gain too much weight is definitely not a good idea. You should not eat salt while you are pregnant, as it could cause the baby some future troubles.

Women that are obese tend to have higher blood pressure ratings, gestational diabetes, and other issue while they are pregnant. They also increase the chances of having a miscarriage.

Here are some instructions for a pregnant mother like light exercise and little bit swimming is good however they should consult with doctors who can give good advice. Swimming is a great way to burn calories; short walks and some easy exercises are good for pregnant women or consult with pediatrician.

Keep in mind that you are now taking care of at least two people now, so it is that much more important to take care of yourself. - 15266

Trees and Man

By Jesse Johanson

The twigs of all trees are covered with buds which, especially in the case of broad-leaved trees which are without leaves in winter, are an important means of identification. Buds are actually embryonic shoots, containing immature leaves or flowers protected by scales.

They are differentiated according to their position on the twig. Those appearing at the apex are called terminal and those borne in the axils of the leaves are termed lateral. Lateral buds are either alternate or arranged io a spiral (oak, alder, hornbeam) or in opposite pairs (maple and ash). The positioning of the buds is identical with that of the leaves, in the axils of which they are borne.

In other words, tree with buds arranged in spirals has the leaves also arranged in spirals. Buds are protected against drying out and frost damage by modified leaves known as scales; either by just single scale (willow or plane tree), two scales (alder), or several scales (beech, hornbeam and oak). Distinguishing features of the scales are colour and pubescence. Some trees that bloom in early spring can be identified by the flower buds, which are of different shapes, e.g. willow, elm, poplar and cherry.

The trunks of most broad-leaved trees divide at a certain height into a few, thick, upward or outward- growing branches which divide further to form the crown which may be broadly oval to round. This shape provides the leaves with the greatest amount of light and air, thus assuring the best conditions for the nourishment of the tree. The tree is anchored in the ground by means of roots which also serve to supply it with water and mineral nutriments.

The value of forests and trees, 'however, does not rest only in the timber they yield. Man is beginning to realize with ever- growing awareness the other functions of the forest And its vegetation. Today we know how important trees and forests are in water management and in preventing soil erosion And the importance of parks and woodlands for man's health and recreation cannot be over-stressed.

Broad-leaved trees grown under the same conditions have a short, thick trunk with a broad, low-placed crown. Only certain light-demanding trees such as the pine, larch, birch and aspen, have the lower half of the bole clear of branches and the crown placed high even when grown in the open. - 15266

Aspen and White Poplar

By Audrey Christopher

The aspen is a forest tree, occurring widely throughout the whole of Europe, and extending beyond the Arctic Circle in the north. In central Europe it grows in lowland and on mountains up to and above 1000 metres; it is most plentiful, however, in hill country, coppice forests and forests which are clear-felled.

The black poplar is a tree of riverine forests and requires abundant light and a high level of underground water for good growth. In commercial forests it is today being replaced by the Carolina poplar (Populus canadensis Moench.), a hybrid between the black poplar and the northern cottonwood (P. deltoides). It is distinguished by rapid growth and is cultivated in plantations. The black poplar produces abundant stump suckers and is also propagated by cuttings. The pyramidal form Populus nigra italica (syn. pyramidalis), the Lombardy poplar, is widely planted in parks and alongside highways. The light wood is used to make plywood and cellulose.

The seeds are carried vast distances, thus making this a pioneer tree in clearings, pastures and fallow land. It also propagates well by root suckers. The wood is light, splits easily and is used to make matches, roof shingles and cellulose.

The twigs are yellow-brown to brown, the buds covered with a layer of balsam resin. The flowers and fruit are very much like those of the white poplar. The balsam poplar is a light-demanding tree that requires considerable moisture.

The juniper is a dioecious species, i.e. individual trees bear only male, or only female flowers. Inconspicuous, they are borne in the axils of the needles, maturing after two years into blue-black berry-like cones.

The white poplar grows in regions with a mild climate. It requires abundant light and ample moisture, and stands up well to flood water and slightly acidic soils. It is very attractive as an open- grown tree in water meadows, and, because of its vast root system, is used also to strengthen sand dunes. In intensive forest management it is being replaced by cultivated forms of black poplars. The wood is soft, and used to make cellulose and for turnery. The pyramidal form from Turkestan, known as Populus alba pyramidalis (syn. bolleana), often makes its appearance in parks. - 15266

It is common that human beings are very conserving of their kids.

They want to give them their best, and most of the parents spend most of their lifetimes to afford a reasonable standard of living for their kids. The fathers work hours after hours to win the bread and butter for the family, while the mothers try their best to provide the children with a wonderful home. Many of the mothers work to support their kids. Parenting is a wonderful experience but it brings a lot of responsibility to one?s shoulders. People have to be responsible for their kids. They have to earn for them to afford their living and to provide them with good education. Parents are responsible for being helpful to their children so they can go on to become something good and worthy in their lives.

Although affording the cost of living for the kids is a major responsibility of the parents, there is one other responsibility which is very important which the parents have to take. This responsibility is to keep the kids close to them. In today?s world there is a lot of exposure for the kids. The children of today know a lot more than what the previous generation knew.

They have access to almost every type of information and can get into really dirty situations if the parents do not keep an eye on them. In this world which is full of rotten facts, it is difficult to save your kids from all the wrongdoings. It is difficult for the parents today to keep their kids on the right track. It is one of the most important responsibilities of the parents to stay close to their kids. This is especially more important when your children are in a growing age and they are confused. They need a lot of your attention as well as your love. They have lots of confusions and questions which need to be answered. If the parents do not pay due attention to the problems and confusions of their growing kids, the kids are bound to move in the wrong direction.

There are many ways the parents can remain close to their kids. It basically depends on the age of your kid. The youngsters of pre-nursery age groups are generally very honest to their parents and they share every thing with them. As they grow up they get involved with their friends and start to change. At this stage it is the parents? responsibility to keep an eye on them without disturbing them. The teenagers are to be treated with love, and they have to be given some freedom. If you keep lots of restraints on the teenagers they are bound to react aggressively. Be their friend. Make them trust you.

If this concept is digested by the kids, they will remain as honest to their parents as they were when they were toddlers. Treat your children according to their age groups. If they are in the growing age they will be having lots of questions. Answer their questions. Let them talk to you. This will help to create a wonderful relationship which can be considered as a true bond between the parents and the children. - 15266

Information on Tree Growth

By Colin Morissett

The principal raw material yielded by trees is wood, which can he used in many ways and for many purposes and which, along with coal - the product of trees of earlier geological periods - made possible the smelting of ores and the development of all branches of industry.

Trees grown for their wood are cultivated in forests. Unlike other raw materials where the supplies are exhausted after a time, if felling is wisely planned, the supply of wood in a forest remains constant and the felled wood is replaced by new wood in the form of new growth.

In the mild climate of central and western Europe, the annual increment per hectare, depending on the site, type of soil and prevailing species, averages from three to ten cubic metres of wood that can be cut without decreasing the supply and production of further wood. With systematic care and fertilization this increment can be increased even further, as is shown by the plantations of cultivated hybrid poplars with an annual increment of fifteen to twenty- live cubic metres of merchantable wood.

Felled wood is processed in two ways: mechanically, whereby only the shape is changed, and chemically, whereby not only the shape is changed but also the substance. Wood processed by the first method is used mainly in the building. industry, the joinery trade, furniture making, wheel and waggon making, in mines, on railway lines, etc.

The best species of trees for this purpose are various pines, larches, and, in sub-tropical regions, members of the genera Agathis, Shorea and Canarium. Similar methods are used in the case of certain tropical, broad- leaved trees to obtain caoutchouc and latex, which are of importance in the rubber, textile and food industries - trees of the genera Hevea, Castilloa, Mimusops, Achras, etc.

The leather industry could not function without tannins, another product of many woody plants. In some trees, these are obtained from the bark (spruce, oak), in others from the wood and bark (chestnut, false acacia), and in still others from the leaves (staghorn sumach) or fruits (sapan). Before the day of synthetic dyes, trees were also an important source of natural dyes. - 15266

Swiss Mountain Pine and Arolla Pine

By Kaylee Savannah

The Weymouth pine is a native of the United States and Canada and was introduced into Europe by Lord Weymouth in 1705. Today it is widely cultivated throughout the western, central and eastern parts of the Continent. It attains heights of hp to 40 metres or more. The bole is straight and is topped by an irregularly shaped, layered crown with soft, silky grey-green foliage that is very attractive. The young tree has smooth green bark that becomes rough and fissured with age. The cones mature in the second year and immediately shed the seeds in September.

The tree attains a height of 40 metres and has a straight bole which, however, tends to be very knotty. It differs from the Scots pine in being more darkly coloured, with black-brown, furrowed bark extending to the dense crown with dark green foliage. The cones mature in the second year.

The jack pine is widespread in Canada and the north-eastern United States, where it grows chiefly on poorer, sandy soils. It was introduced into Europe in 1785. In the late nineteenth century it was widely planted as a forest tree because of its resistance to fungus diseases, and its rapid growth in youth. However, it was found that after the fortieth year the rate of growth declined rapidly and the bole became crooked; so the initial enthusiasm soon waned.

It was introduced into Europe as early as 1540 and today is widely cultivated there, especially in parks and cemeteries. The growth rate is slow and the tree attains a height of only 20 metres or so, with oblong crown reaching to the ground. The grey-brown furrowed bark peels in narrow, longitudinal strips. The terminal shoot stands erect, the lateral branchlets are more or less horizontal.

The Arolla pine has thick, rust coloured, downy shoots and needles clustered densely on the twigs. The cones take two years to mature and when ripe in September they fall to the ground where they disintegrate. The sweet oily seeds are a favourite of birds and rodents. New individuals grow from the seeds they drop on their way, often far from the parent tree. The Arolla pine has a slow rate of growth; not until after its sixtieth year does it begin to flower and bear fruit, but it attains an age of several hundred years. It is adapted to the harsh, mountain climate and stands up well to frost, windstorms and heavy snow. The wood is strong and light, and was formerly used to make furniture and carved objects.

In sunny situations it is affected by changes in temperature, and sometimes frost causes it to dry up. Its many ornamental forms make it particularly desirable for park landscaping. - 15266

Family - Preserving Your Family Life

By Mona Hagen

Families are easily the most important social unit in anyone?s life. Families are very important and it is given its due importance in all the cultures of the world. Every country of the world tries to pay all due attention towards retaining the family ties and enhancing the artefact of life for the family units. As family is the most important social unit for anyone at all, it is important to save the family unit when the situation is not good.

Sometimes there are problems between people who belong to the same family. Not all people take each other?s comments lightly. Sometimes one of the family members may think that the other one is not letting him or her live his or her life and there is no space to breathe. There may be many issues which can create some tension in your household. If you are an intelligent person and you understand the importance of family life then you also need to understand that even family life sometimes become tough.

The people who belong to the same family are not always happy with apiece other. People may sometimes get annoyed. They may sometimes feel as if they have been ignored by the other family members. All these problems or even many other problems can create a gap between the family members. Now being a mortal who belongs to this family it is your responsibility to not let the cracks to widen. You must make your own contribution to keep the family as a unit.

The problems may range from small arguments to the decision of getting separated and finally divorced. If this happens and your spouse is not willing to understand, it is your responsibility to understand the situation and try to retain your family unit. Your spouse may be angry due to more than one reason. First of all you need to understand the reasons of your spouse?s anger. See if the reason is a genuine one. You must try to resolve the issue in the best possible manner to keep your family unit intact. The family unit is too important and it must not be wasted over certain issues which can be easily resolved.

If your spouse is angry you need to be a more active part of your family life. If your husband is not getting involved in the family life because he is upset with you, you need to take a step forward and resolve the issue with him. The best idea is to talk to each other. If you feel that the issue can be resolved by simple discussion, go ahead. Talk to your spouse and make him understand the situation. Most probably the issue will resolve in this way as most of the problems between the spouses arise because both of them are not willing to listen to the other one. When one of them gives in and starts listening to the other one, the problem is resolved. Similarly if your wife is angry with you for any reason you can help cooling down her temper by presenting her with a bouquet of flowers or another romantic gift.

Most probably you will be able to restore the normal family life by discussing the issue with your wife. The best way to behave with your spouse is to tell him or her more often that you love each other and the family is important. This automatically adds a zest to your family life. Make the other members of the family understand that you care about them. If you can make them believe this you will be able to win their hearts. The strength of the family unit is in the trust we have on all our family members. Try to build that trust. - 15266

Tree Fruits

By Susan Ferguson

There are some trees that multiply asexually, i.e. by vegetative means. In one such example, root stickers, new individuals grow from the roots of the parent tree, which may soon be surrounded by a whole group of young trees. This means of reproduction is found in the aspen, white poplar, black locust, wild cherry, etc.

The seed is made up of a membranous or hard outer covering - the seed coat or testa - and the inner nucleus, which contains only the embryo and food reserves for the initial period of growth stored in the seed leaves (cotyledons) of the embryo (oak, beech, horse-chestnut, maple, ash, etc.). Some seeds contain a separate food reserve (endosperm) which surrounds the embryo and provides food for its growth (many conifers, etc.). Often clearly discernible on the seed is the scar where it was attached to the fruit. Usually this is light in colour (horse- chestnut and many Leguminosae). When germinating, it is through this scar that the seed absorbs the most water and through or near it that the first root and shoot emerge.

The tallest and largest trees are the sequoias of North America (Sequoiadendron giganteum Buchh. and Sequoia sempervirens Endl.), the latter attaining heights of up to 112 metres or more. Heights of 80 to 90 metres are reached by some other west American conifers, e.g. the giant fir, noble fir, Douglas fir and sugar pine. Of the European trees the tallest is the European silver fir with a height of over 62 metres and the Norway spruce, which also attains a height of over 60 metres.

Conifers generally lack it altogether, and in early youth it is found only in the yew, eastern arbor-vitae and some cypresses. Almost all broad-leaved trees exhibit this ability in youth, but later, after the age of maturity, it disappears in of trees with a constant ability to produce suckers in great abundance includes the willow, poplar, lime, hornbeam, alder, black locust, elm and oak, those with a moderate output include the maple, ash and mountain ash.

If conditions are favourable, the seeds of most woody plants germinate within three to four weeks of sowing. But in some trees the period of germination is longer when sown in spring. If the seeds have become too dry during the winter storage they may not germinate at all, or else not until the following Npring. This is true of many seeds, particularly of large seeds or those that fall from the tree in the autumn (silver fir, Douglas lir, white pine, common yew, oak, beech, chestnut, maple, etc.).

Since the annual growth begins early in spring, usually before the tree's assimilation organs are fully developed, the substances required are taken from the previous year's store; the extent of growth is thus mainly influenced by the weather of the preceding year. - 15266

Is It Important To Know My Skin Type?

By Andi Bradshaw

Is your skin type Dry, Normal/Combination, Sensitive or Oily? Whenever I ask this question and a woman answers I don't know, then she typically has normal/combination skin. Believe me, those who have dry, oily or sensitive skin, know who they are.

Normal/combination skin is the ideal and it's not unusual to feel a little dryer or a little oilier a short while after cleansing. If you produce a little more or less oil than you need, you're still within the normal range. You'll have dry cheeks with a normal T zone when your skin is Normal to Dry. And, you'll have normal cheeks with an oily T zone when your skin is Normal to Oily.

The person with Dry skin knows that her body doesn't generate enough oil to keep her facial skin moist. The under activity of her oil glands results in skin that feels dry or tight within minutes after cleansing. This type skin has very tight pores and generally has spots of dry flaky skin.

If your skin is really shiny or very oily within 2 hours after cleansing, then you have Oily skin. This person knows that her body has over active sebaceous (oil) glands, and her face produces too much oil. This type has enlarged pores, is generally oily all over, and is prone to outbreaks or acne.

Average products may cause redness and/or itching for Sensitive skin. Most cosmetic lines carry a group of products with no known allergens. These are designed to be mild and very gentle to sensitive-type facial skin; which may be combined with any of the above types, dry-sensitive, oily-sensitive, etc.

When your skin care products are not made for your skin type, you can expect some type of negative reaction. You can depend on dry skin flaking, peeling or even cracking open; many years of using the wrong products will result in skin that wrinkles 10 to 20 years earlier than it should. That explains the importance of using proper (pH balanced) facial skin care items as early and consistently as possible.

Oily skin will have more severe, longer lasting problems if your skin care products contain oil. There will be clogged pores, and there may be facial infections that develop into cysts due to bacteria and overgrown skin cells that stop natural follicular growth. The long lasting effects could be permanent, dark pimple spots or uneven facial surface and extremely large pores.

Sensitive skin may develop allergic reactions that resemble excema with the accompanying blotchiness and itching. Another reaction my be first degree burns and scarring from products that are too strong for your skin type. This type needs to test new products, by using it behind an ear and waiting 24 hours to see if there will be a reaction before full facial use.

The average of normal/combination skin type doesn't suffer with problem skin, but a lot of other people do. Products for your skin type will leave your skin feeling fine, normal, not too dry, itchy or oily. Knowing what type skin you have and only using appropriate products means you'll minimize or eliminate those severe problems and eventually the cost of a dermatologist. - 15266

Planting Beans

By Daemyn Simpson

Snap bean, also called string bean, green bean or wax bean; shell bean, also called horticultural bean (Phaseolus vul garis); Lima bean, also called butter bean (P. limensis, also called P. lunatus macrocarpus); baby Lima bean, also called baby butter bean (P. lunatus); edible soybean (Glycine soja, also called G. max).

Set poles about 2 feet apart in rows 3 feet apart, and plant four to six seeds around each; after the plants have sprouted, thin out all but the best three or four in each group. If pole beans are grown along fences, sow seeds singly about 6 inches apart.

Snap beans and shell beans may be grown in all parts of the U.S. and southern Canada. Lima beans, baby Lima beans and edible soybeans do best where summers are long and hot, and night temperatures remain above 50 for a period of at least two months (four months in the case of edible soybeans).

Snap beans should be harvested while they are still immature-that is, while the pods are still tender, moist and succulent, and still able to snap when they are bent. All other types of beans are ready for harvesting when the beans inside the pods are fully formed (open a pod to see).

The length of time required from seeding to harvest varies according to the type of bean planted: bush varieties of snap beans and shell beans need about 8 weeks; pole varieties of snap beans and shell beans, 9 weeks; bush Lima beans and bush baby Lima beans, 9 to 10 weeks; pole Lima beans and pole baby Lima beans, 13 weeks; and edible soybeans, 15 weeks.

If you have an oversupply of beans, you can dry them for future use by letting the pods mature on the vine until they become beige-colored. Then remove the beans from the pods and heat them in a 130 to 145 oven for an hour to kill any bean weevils that may have burrowed into the pods while they were still green. - 15266

Stanhopea

By Beatrice Shepley

Vandas are a natural genus of over 30 species, originating from a wide area of the Old World, from India, South-east Asia and Indonesia to the Philippines, New Guinea and Australia. They head a huge alliance of intergeneric hybrid forms, which include other natural genera such as Ascocentrittn, Rhynchostylis, Renanthera, Arachnis, and many others, including Phalaenopsis and Doritis.

The majority of these plants are warm-growing, light-loving types that grow best in the tropics, where a massive breeding programme has continued apace. The results can be seen in florists' shops where the cut flowers are in great demand. Vandas are monopodial evergreen plants that grow from a central tip on an ever-extending rhizome. As new, semirigid leaves are produced from the apex, the lower ones are eventually lost. After a few years, the plants become "leggy" with a length of bare stem above the pot. Stout aerial roots, formed along the base stem, are a feature of these plants.

Under good culture they make extensive aerial roots, which form a dense and protective mass around the base of the plant. A good number of the species are in cultivation, in addition to a few hybrids, which are generally little improvement upon the fantastic species.

The crossing of these two plants produced the lovely, deep blue V. Rothschildiana, and this one hybrid ha done more to promote the genus in the northern hemisphere than any other orchid. V. Rothschildiana will grow with exceptional ease and bloom two to three times a year. The plants can grow considerably tall, up to 1m (3ft), making an impressive specimen when in bloom The large, rounded blooms are over 7cm (3in) across and will last for several weele at a time. In addition, there are other variously coloured vandas and intergeneric hybrids available.

Look out for the brilliantly coloured, often smaller-flowered ascocendas (Vanda x Ascocentrum). These are often more popular than the pure vandas because of their neat habit and upright flower spikes, which are crowded with beautiful, symmetrical flowers in fiery reds, gorgeous oranges and deep yellows. While some are self-coloured, others display extreme tessellating or mottling on the petals and sepals. Temperature is warm-growing.

Grow in open slatted baskets in a compost (growing medium) of coarse hark chips to which a few pieces of horticultural charcoal or pumice have been added. Maintain good light all year. Water freely and feed weekly in summer to encourage aerial roots. Mist the foliage on a regular basis. Height: 30-100cm (1 2-36in). - 15266

Bathroom vanity is the focus point of your bathroom

By Zaina Zidan

The single most important element in your bathroom is the vanity. It is considered the main piece of furniture in your restroom. It is also the main decorative item. The toilet and tub are also important but they are permanent fixtures due to pipe layout.

This is because the vanity is the one item that is most likely to get noticed inadvertently the most, because people love to check their images in the mirror before they leave. Even if you do not consider yourself vain, you probably take a glance up at yourself while washing your hands. This means that after the necessity items, the bathroom mirror garnishes the most attention from your guests. Now keep in mind that the bathroom is one of the most trafficked areas of your home, and you can see why you will want to take some time on the most important element of your home restroom.

When designing your restroom you should remember it is the room that attracts the most traffic in the entire home. Knowing that your bathroom will be drawing a lot of attention when they walk in, will help you make sure that the bathroom design is just right. You also need to take note that it all starts with the vanity mirror which catches everyone's eyes when they are in your new bathroom.

In fact, depending on the theme you choose for your bathroom, the vanity is either going to complete your theme accenting the entire room, or is going to break the decorating motif and noticeably stand out in a way you were not planning on. Since the mirror is the deciding factor and the centerpiece of the room, you might want to in fact choose it and correlate a theme to go along with it.

If you choose a smaller bathroom vanity which has a large sink, it can allow a couple of accessories to help accent the trim of the cabinet. For instance, if you are interested in choosing a wood framed mirror, you may want to look into purchasing some wood potpourri containers which will enhance the wood accents and also add a delightful scent and sense of style throughout your bathroom.

If you have a smaller type of sink, you should not leave an entire bathroom wall blank. With a smaller bathroom vanity, it will make the bathroom look emptier than it really is because of the excess amount of space that is available on the walls. You may feel that you will need to select a style of mirror that is a couple of feet larger width wise than the vanity.

When you have the correct measurements of your new bathroom vanity, you will need to decide that will add to the rest of your theme. You need to figure out what type of trim you want to accent your color scheme. The vanity mirror will draw attention no matter what type of frame you choose, you need to figure if you want a sleek or warm feel for your bathroom. - 15266

Acne and Pregnancy

By Fran Anderson

As a result of the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy, many women suffer from acne outbreaks while pregnant. There are remedies for acne available which are safe for pregnant women to use. Your doctor should be able to advise you on an acne treatment and always consult your doctor before using any acne product while pregnant.

Acne during pregnancy is generally caused by changes in hormone levels, not by the more common causes of clogged pores or bacteria beneath the skin. As such, all pregnant women are susceptible to breakouts, regardless of whether bouts of acne were a problem in the past. Having had clear, healthy skin your whole life will not make you immune to acne while pregnant.

Making sure to wash your face in the morning and before bed with a gentle cleanser and using a mild moisturizer as needed may do enough to keep acne at bay even while pregnant. If you are pregnant and searching for an acne treatment, though, ask your doctor for a recommendation. Be aware that acne remedies designed to open clogged pores or fight acne causing bacteria may not be effective due to your acne being likely caused by increased hormone levels.

Over the counter remedies applied topically can be safe to use, but exercise caution and speak with your doctor first. Treatments containing benzoyl peroxide, low concentrations of salicylic acid or erythromycin are usually considered safe for use while pregnant.

Oral acne medications should be avoided in general and only be used when prescribed by your doctor. Some of the active ingredients in orally administered acne medicines are unsafe and pose serious risks when taken during pregnancy.

Consult your doctor if you are thinking of trying an herbal remedy as well. Just because the packaging on an acne treatment reads "all natural" or similar that does not make it safe to use while pregnant. Your doctor will be able to advise you.

Being more susceptible to acne breakouts while pregnant is entirely normal. You have to be careful about how you treat your acne, of course. With a regular mild cleansing and your doctor's recommendation for a treatment, clearing up acne breakouts and maintaining your skin's health are quite possible. - 15266

Enjoying the best of kids Resorts

By Marcos Locarsi

A weekend at the kids resort should be the best time for you to sit back, relax and slowly drift away from all the pressure of work, it should not be the time for you to go worrying on your babys safety and looking after them all the time. This spoils not only your vacation but your babys safety and comfort as well. So whenever the thought of spending the weekend at a resort crosses your mind, consider staying at a baby-friendly resort.

You dont necessarily have to look for hotels that advertise themselves as baby-friendly. There are a lot of hotels that may offer facilities for your baby, yet that is not their main focus. To consider a resort baby-friendly, you should first check on the availability of these succeeding facilities in their offered accommodation:

1. Highchair and Travel Cot Confirm if the kids resort has a highchair and travel cot that you can reserve in advance. If they dont have these, then it must be an early sign that they will not be that friendly to your baby.

2. Feeding Facilities Check if they can offer facilities that would let you sterilize your babys feeding bottles or other feeding utensils.

3. Baby-Listening Service If youre looking forward to going out for a night activity when your baby is soundly sleeping upstairs, opt for a resort that has a baby-listening activity so you dont have to worry all the time.

4. Baby-Sitting Facility If you wish to spend a time alone from your child, look for a hotel with a swimming pool or spa, and a baby-sitting facility. Some hotels especially luxury hotel offer a crche service which lets you take some time all by yourself while your child is enjoying too.

5. Children-Friendly Menu Check if the hotel restaurant offers a childrens menu or if they serve baby food. This will help you be at ease and worry less about going about preparing your childs meal.

6. Dining Room Policy Check on the hotels dining room policy, since there are hotels that follow a no children in the dining room right after 7pm policy.

Generally, the better and the more accessible child-friendly facilities are in a resort, the higher the rates. So if you opt for better facilities for your child, you should be prepared to invest on more cash. - 15266

Ways To Lose Weight Fast

By Petra Spink

Almost everyone wants to find a way to lose weight fast. Some want to lose 50 pounds, others 5. Either way, if you can follow a few simple steps, you can lose weight effectively and keep it off. No need to engage in drastic measures. Rather, set up a long range, sustainable plan using tested methods.

On your quest to lose weight, you'll quickly realise that a proper diet is essential. Cutting your calorie count by just 500 each day will result in a pound less in a week. This may not sound like much, but when combined with exercise, this can really make a huge, exponential impact.

As you try to lose weight, remember you only need to change your diet slightly. Small changes can really add up - just 500 less calories each day will help you lose a pound each week. For example to satisfy sweet cravings, try spreading a dab of peanut butter on some apple slices instead of helping yourself to a slice of cake.

Exercise is deemed as the best possible way when you are searching for a way to lose weight fast. Exercise enhances various body functions and thus helps in building muscle, burning excess fats and also helping in toning every part of the body. Aerobic exercises should be done in a greater amount per week to burn the fats quickly. On your quest to lose weight, remember the importance of exercise. Thirty minutes or an hour of aerobic work can burn nearly 4,000 calories each week. This can really add up and help you shed off those pounds!

Perhaps the easiest way to lose weight is all too often ignored. Support! Find friends and family who will urge you on and motivate you. While on your journey to weight loss, look around and see if some one close to you, like a family member or friend is also interested in the same goal. If you find such a companion that will be a great resource and your chances of success will far outweigh your possibility of giving in between.

A useful tool for those looking for a little all-natural boost to their weight loss plans is the acai berry. These almost miraculous berries are often used in herbal healing, but they are also effective weight loss helpers. They can help weight loss by reducing hunger, accelerating the metabolism, and flushing toxins from the body.

When the though of trying to lose weight comes into the mind of the people, dieting scares them and they often give up. The most effective way to lose weight fast is by exercising more, taking a healthier diet and finding like-minded friends and family who will support you in your weight loss goals. - 15266
