As Seen on TV is notorious for creating products that deliver fixes to everyday problems. However, sometimes their products are too good to be true - and often labeled as scams. Their latest product to receive a lot of hype is the Aqua Globes. This product is the most efficient, effortless way to keep your plants watered all of the time. However, should Aqua Globe be added to the list of products to avoid?
Aqua Globes are little glass ornaments that will water your plants for you. This bulb is hand crafted. This is what you will fill up with water to allow for water storage. Branching off of this bulb is a stem that you insert to the soil. As the soil dries, the stem will send drops of water to keep the plant hydrated again. As Seen on TV claims that the Aqua Globe will keep your soil hydrated for 2 weeks per refill.
You have probably heard these claims and wonder if they are too good to be true. Well let's see how this product works. When the soil of your plant dries, oxygen is released. This oxygen creates an infiltration in your bulb. This allows water to creep out. This water is just enough to keep your plant satisfied without over or under watering.
Does it work? From my experience it has worked very well. You do have to do a few things to ensure proper performance. You must refill every 2 weeks and be careful not to clog the end of the stem with dirt. To get around this problem, simply poke a hole first and then inset the stem. This worked for me.
One obstacle that you must come to terms with is the appearance of the product. Make sure that you are content with having the bulb where your plants are. I like the way they look, but some may not. If you do you believe they take away visual value, then you should be ok.
As far as functionality, the Aqua Globe meets all standards. I have such an easy time keeping my plants healthy. I have received complements galore and many believe that I have put in tons of hard work into my plants. Truthfully, I do little maintenance and keep them watered with the Aqua Globes.
